Jane Alexander

Certified Yoga Therapist and Health Coach

Jane Alexander offers integrated practices for mind body wellness and dealing with the chronic conditions of life. She’s a cross between an integrative physical therapist, a social worker, a grief counselor, a wellness advocate and a life coach.

If you’re devoted to yourself — cultivating strength, balance, mobility or sanity, Jane Alexander can help.

Yoga as therapy is yoga at its best, involving the body, mind and spirit in a practice that reinforces your own agency in healing and health. The partnership she creates with her clients allows them to establish practices which support their own health and healing.

Jane Alexander works with clients recovering from larger traumas such as heart disease, cancer, autoimmune disease, MS and Parkinson’s disease, surgery as well as everyday challenges of aging. Her senior client’s develop their level of mobility, strength and balance. This work is functional, helping them with the daily activities of living. Every clients' needs vary but for all it involves finding compassion and patience, staying present and calm.

Jane Alexander works with clients’ breath to help them manage their nervous system and stay present. She also helps them work their bodies to create space, strength, mobility, and balance. This, in turn, helps them experience a compassionate, kind relationship with their bodies rather than feeling their bodies have betrayed them. She uses meditation, guided or not, depending on the situation. We always work with intention.

Jane Alexander has been practicing yoga for over thirty years, teaching yoga for over ten years, and working therapeutically for over six years.

Aside from the world of yoga, Jane Alexander has experience in sales and marketing within the financial industry; motivation, patience and logistics as a full time mom of four; strength training as a Division 1, All-American athlete; and collaboration as an active community member.

Between diving and becoming a yoga therapist, Jane Alexander has worked in the financial industry, raised a bunch of kids, managed local political campaigns, lost the path. But then found her way back to health and healing in the body and mind.

Jane Alexander has seen and experienced first-hand the adverse impact of chronic illness and stress. It’s a privilege for her to help people feel whole and at ease. This profession enables her to help clients work with their bodies, minds and spirits to reduce stress and foster healing. This is her dharma. It is exactly where she can be of my greatest service.
